
Heavy Crane Mechanic
Job Description
A reputable construction fleet in Irving, TX, is hiring a Heavy Crane Mechanic to maintain and inspect mobile cranes across San Antonio and the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex. Ideal candidates hold crane-specific certifications and excel in hydraulic, electrical, and lifting systems. Take the lead in a role built for independence and field expertise!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair RT, crawler, and all-terrain crane systems including hydraulics, hoisting, and electrical components.
- Conduct OSHA- and ANSI-compliant annual crane inspections.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to extend equipment life.
- Maintain accurate service records, diagnostics, and inspection documentation.
- Communicate repair status and service needs to management.
- Adhere to all OSHA and manufacturer safety protocols.
- Travel to job sites across Texas and occasionally out of state; overnight stays may be required.
- Respond to emergency repairs and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
Requirements:

Required:
- Valid crane certification (NCCCO or equivalent).
- Experience servicing RT, crawler, and all-terrain cranes.
- Strong expertise in crane-specific diagnostics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Proven ability to perform annual crane inspections per OSHA and ANSI standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage a service schedule.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

- Background with dealership service teams or major crane rental operations.
- Additional experience with heavy equipment repair beyond cranes.

Shifts
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (subject to operational changes).
- Travel to in-state and occasional out-of-state project sites required; overnight stays may be necessary.
- Weekend or night work may be required due to emergency repairs or project demands.
- On-call rotation coordinated with the Equipment Manager.
Compensation
- $45/hr – $55/hr based on experience; overtime available based on operational needs
- Bonuses: Eligible for company bonus plan.
