An established company in Jacksonville, FL is hiring a Senior Diesel Technician to perform repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on a truck fleet. This role requires expertise in complex mechanical and electronic systems, along with mentoring junior technicians. Apply today to join a skilled team!

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform standard and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic software.
• Conduct detailed mechanical inspections and make necessary repairs with minimal supervision.
• Replace defective components and perform facility maintenance duties as needed.
• Work directly with customers and drivers to assess vehicle issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation tools for accurate record-keeping.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and corporate regulations, including DOT and safety guidelines.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior technicians (Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels).
• Access and utilize internal and external maintenance documentation effectively.
• Complete OEM diagnostic scan tool courses and SBTIII training within the required timeframes.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification is a plus.
• Must have own basic tools.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment.
• Proficiency in routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake, and tire work.
• Experience with basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of PC and Windows-based systems.
• Valid CDL Class A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to pass a drug test, DOT physical, road test, background check, and motor vehicle record check.
• Must meet all location-specific certifications and requirements.
