Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Diesel Mechanic to join an established team in Haileybury, Ontario. This role is perfect for a certified technician with a strong background in diesel mechanics. Techs with certifications such as a Redseal, 310T, or 310S are highly encouraged to apply.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform comprehensive vehicle repairs, including adjustments and tests on various systems like steering, electrical, cooling, braking, and more.
- Conduct test drives to verify the resolution of repair issues.
- Ensure all major repairs receive appropriate inspections and approvals before vehicles are released from the maintenance facility.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workspace in compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Identify and report any additional maintenance or repairs discovered during assigned tasks.
- Record time spent, parts used, and details of repairs and maintenance conducted on the appropriate forms.
- Communicate with the Lead Technician about any unsafe maintenance conditions or practices and potential vehicle abuse.
- Handle road calls and on-the-road repairs as needed.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance, including repair and engine rebuilds on diesel trucks or buses, in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess a Red Seal, 310T, or 310S certification
- Proficiency in computerized diagnostics and general shop computer usage.
- Experience with purchasing and budget management in a fleet maintenance context.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly with Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Good organizational skills are advantageous.

Compensation
- $37 to $38/hr based on experience.
