Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines (Freightliner, Volvo, etc.) and related systems.
• Maintain and service brake systems, oil changes, filters, and DPF components.
• Perform electrical and diesel system repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and prepare vehicles for technical inspections.
• Keep accurate records of all completed work.

Requirements:

• Required:

  • 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic on heavy-duty trucks and/or trailers.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Proficient with diagnostics, hand tools, and accurate service recordkeeping.
  • Knowledge of brake systems, DPF service, and electrical/diesel system repairs.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and safety-conscious work habits.
  • High school diploma or GED.

• Preferred:

  • Completion of a diesel technology or vocational training program.
  • ASE certifications or OEM-specific training (Detroit, Cummins, Volvo, Paccar).
  • Valid CDL (Class B or A) and ability to obtain DOT medical certification.
  • Basic computer skills for repair manuals and maintenance logs.
  • Experience with hydraulics, HVAC, and air brake systems.
