Job Description

Join an established team as a Welder in Lansing, MI, where you will perform a variety of welding tasks using MIG techniques in a dynamic, hands-on environment. If you are skilled in multiple welding positions and looking to work in a supportive shop environment with opportunities to mentor others, this is the job for you!

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Inspect welds for quality, including checking bead size to meet specifications.
  • Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces.
  • Weld metal parts together using arc welding processes.
  • Conduct thermal cutting, grinding, and other related tasks as needed.
  • Position and clamp metal components for accurate alignment during welding.
  • Measure materials and plan layouts for welding tasks.
  • Operate cutting torches, plasma cutters, and electric bandsaws safely and efficiently.
  • Complete necessary documentation, such as work logs and reports.
  • Use a forklift to maneuver containers for painting and repairs (forklift training provided if needed).
  • Mentor and serve as a lead for entry-level welders, providing guidance and support.

 

Requirements:

  • Completion of welding school or equivalent training.
  • Minimum 1 year of welding experience, with proficiency in MIG welding.
  • Basic knowledge of thermal cutting and grinding processes.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Forklift experience preferred, with the ability to obtain certification if necessary.

 

 

Shifts

  • Day Shift Monday – Friday (Occasional Saturdays) 6 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Overtime available!

Compensation

  • Up to $26/hour (based on experience) + Annual bonus
