Job Description

A well-established company in Newark, NJ, is immediately hiring experienced a Lead Shop Mechanic for a long-term, full-time, day-shift opportunity in a positive, team-spirited environment to help maintain their equipment and vehicles. Mechanics will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy & small engine equipment and vehicles as required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all repairs and follow a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure optimal performance of equipment and minimize downtime
• Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and on time
• Operate machinery/equipment in compliance with Health and Safety: Hand/Power Tools, Welding/Cutting Equipment, Air Tools, Forklifts, Hoists, Excavators, etc.
• Order, receive, organize, and account for spare parts and tools in the inventory – keep inventory clean and organized
• Efficiently and effectively diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair equipment

Requirements:

• At least 3-5 years of mechanical experience – diesel/heavy equipment/Automotive
• Personal set of Hand Tools
• Welding/Cutting Experience Preferred
• Strong Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Abilities
• Detail-Oriented
• Capable to Work Independently
• Valid Drivers License

Compensation:

• $28.00 - $35.00/hour to start, based on previous experience/certification/training
• OT after 40 hours

Shift Schedule:

• Day Shift, Monday – Friday 7:00am - 5:00pm
