A reputable fleet service operation in Atlanta, GA, is hiring experienced Diesel Mechanics to perform high-level diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using diagnostic tools.
• Conduct safety inspections and complete major repairs to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Assist with general shop upkeep and fueling/inspection station duties as needed.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians.
• Accurately document work using shop systems.
• Collaborate with drivers to identify repair needs and conduct road tests as required.
• Support remote troubleshooting for roadside breakdowns.

Requirements:

• Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–4+ years of hands-on diesel repair and diagnostic experience.
  • Proficiency in systems such as brakes, A/C, tires, and electrical repairs.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility to obtain CDL within 6 months.
  • Ability to meet DOT physical, drug screen, and background check requirements.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work assigned shifts, including weekends or on-call rotation.

• Preferred:

  • Technical certifications or vocational training in diesel technology.
  • 3-7 years of diesel repair experience is a plus.
  • Current or past ASE certifications.
  • CDL Class A license.
  • Familiarity with OEM diagnostic tools and shop management software.
  • Prior mentoring or supervisory experience in a shop setting.
