Job Description

An established rental fleet in Mississauga, ON, is hiring an experienced Aerial Equipment Mechanic to service and repair boom lifts, scissor lifts, and telehandlers. This role offers steady, long-term work where your diagnostic skills with hydraulics, CAN bus systems, and diesel/dual-fuel engines will make an immediate impact. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on aerial lifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telescopic forklifts
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control system faults and perform corrective repairs
  • Troubleshoot and repair CAN bus networks, electric-over-hydraulic controls, and related systems
  • Service and repair diesel and dual-fuel engines, including fuel, air, cooling, and exhaust systems
  • Disassemble and rebuild hydraulic and mechanical components such as pumps, gearboxes, and cylinders
  • Conduct inspections, tests, and load checks to ensure equipment safety and performance
  • Maintain accurate service records, including parts usage and maintenance history
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate repairs and order necessary parts
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices

 

Requirements:

  • Required:
    • Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience servicing aerial lifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, or telescopic forklifts
    • Solid knowledge of CAN bus systems and electric-over-hydraulic controls
    • Proficiency with diesel and dual-fuel engine repairs
    • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and electrical troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
    • Capable of working independently or as part of a team
    • Valid, clean driver’s license
    • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance
  • Preferred:
    • 421A or 310T trade license (or equivalent heavy equipment certification)
    • Previous experience in a rental equipment or fleet service environment
    • Familiarity with service scheduling and maintenance tracking systems

Shifts

  • Day shift: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday

    • Overtime available after 44 hours per week

Compensation

  • $40.00 – $48.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications

    • Full benefits package available after 30 days of employment

    • Company-provided uniforms supplied
