
Master Diesel Mechanic (Tech 4) & Senior Diesel Mechanic (Tech 3)
Job Description
A fleet maintenance provider in Morrow, GA is hiring both Master Diesel Mechanics (Tech 4) and Diesel Mechanics (Tech 3) to maintain and repair commercial vehicles. Tech 4 candidates should have advanced diagnostic and repair experience, while Tech 3 candidates will handle standard maintenance and diagnostics. Apply today to join a growing team!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform standard maintenance, preventive maintenance, and component inspections on diesel vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic tools.
- Replace defective components and ensure repairs meet safety standards.
- Assist with roadside breakdowns and perform facility maintenance as needed.
- Utilize electronic documentation and Shop Management System for tracking repairs.
- Comply with all federal, state, and corporate safety and maintenance regulations.
- Interact with drivers/customers to assess vehicle issues.
- Tech 3 Only: Perform complex diagnostics and mechanical repairs with minimal supervision.
- Tech 3 Only: Complete OEM diagnostic training and assist junior technicians as needed.
- Tech 4 Only: Conduct advanced diagnostics and major repairs independently.
- Tech 4 Only: Mentor junior technicians and complete OEM diagnostic training.
- Tech 4 Only: Road test vehicles and advise management on shop repairs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or technical certification is a plus.
- Basic tools required.
- Experience in mechanical repair of diesel engines, including routine maintenance, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Tech 3: Minimum 3 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment.
- Tech 3: Knowledge of diagnostic scan tools and ability to perform moderate diagnostics.
- Tech 4: Minimum 4 years of experience with advanced diagnostics and major engine repair skills.
- Tech 4: ASE certifications preferred (PM, brakes, A/C, electrical, electronics, or Master Mechanic).
- CDL Class A preferred; must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work shifts, weekends, and on-call as needed.
- Must pass Ryder background check, DOT physical, drug test, and road test.

Shifts
- Second Shift:
- Monday: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
- Tuesday to Thursday: 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Friday: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Compensation
- $29/hr to $34+/hr based on experience, certifications, and shift.
- Sign-On Bonus: $3,500 for T3 and $5,000 for T4.
- Annual Merit Pay Increases Every Year.
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained (up to $700).
