Job Title: Parts Counter Associate

Job Description
A well-established heavy equipment dealer is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Parts Counter Associate to join their Staten Island team. This position plays a key role in supporting both customers and service technicians by ensuring accurate parts identification, ordering, and sales while maintaining excellent customer service and strong inventory control.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers (retail, wholesale, and internal service department) in identifying and locating required parts.
• Provide accurate parts information, pricing, and availability.
• Process parts orders, returns, and exchanges efficiently in person, over the phone, and via email.
• Maintain inventory control by receiving, stocking, and organizing parts.
• Create and update sales orders, invoices, and records in the system.
• Coordinate with the Service Department to ensure timely parts availability for equipment repairs.
• Support promotional sales initiatives and upsell parts and accessories when appropriate.
• Communicate with vendors regarding special orders and back-ordered parts.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional parts counter and storage area.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to build and maintain long-term relationships.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in automotive, truck, or heavy equipment parts sales preferred.
• Strong knowledge of parts catalog systems and inventory software (CDK or similar a plus).
• Familiarity with heavy equipment, trucks, or construction industry parts strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Team-oriented with a customer-first attitude.
• Ability to lift heavy mechanical parts and assist with light warehouse duties when needed.
