Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and transmissions.
• Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and tire rotations.
• Inspect heavy trucks and equipment for wear or damage and complete BIT inspections quarterly.
• Replace or repair malfunctioning parts and components across a range of systems.
• Test drive vehicles post-repair to verify performance and reliability.
• Document all maintenance, inspections, and repairs in service records.
• Communicate repair status and service needs with supervisors and team members.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards.

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • 2+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, diagnostics, and electrical systems.
  • Skilled in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Ability to lift heavy parts and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Effective communication and detailed record-keeping skills.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license.
  • Must pass a drug test and background check prior to employment.

• Preferred:
  • Trade school or ASE certifications in diesel, electrical, or brake systems.
  • Experience servicing construction or quarry fleet equipment.
