Job Description

Join a growing team as a Shop Based Crane Mechanic in Pittsfield, ME, where you’ll perform vital maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide variety of cranes and related heavy equipment. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on various crane types, including friction, crawler, gantry, and RT cranes.
  • Conduct inspections to identify wear, defects, and safety concerns, ensuring compliance with manufacturer and OSHA standards.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections using the company’s documentation systems.
  • Order and manage parts inventory to minimize downtime.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to operators and team members as needed.
  • Adhere to all company safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

 

Requirements:

  • Training or technical certifications in crane function or repair preferred; Manitowoc Crane training is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience working on cranes or similar heavy equipment.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with crane-specific software and diagnostic tools.
  • Crane operator certification from an accredited organization (e.g., NCCCO, NCCER) preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A or B preferred.
  • Skilled in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools for repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies.

  • Day Shift, 6:00AM – 3:30PM, Monday to Friday

Compensation

  • $26.00 to $31.00 an hour starting pay based on experience.
  • Full benefits available after 60 days (Health, Vision, Dental, etc).
