Job Description
Join our team at an established bus operation in Plainview, NY, as a Parts Manager. This pivotal role ensures the efficient and effective operations of our parts department, catering specifically to the needs of our school bus customers. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the parts department, including inventory control, ordering, stocking, and distribution of school bus parts and accessories.
- Set and achieve forecasted goals for the parts sales team, ensuring profitability on a monthly and yearly basis.
- Streamline coordination with the service department to expedite parts orders, minimizing downtime for customers.
- Perform regular inventory audits, maintaining accurate records and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop relationships with suppliers to negotiate competitive rates and high-quality products.
- Stay informed on industry trends and new products to offer expert advice and recommendations.
- Resolve customer inquiries and issues, ensuring exceptional service and prompt problem resolution.
- Lead and develop the parts team, fostering a high-performance culture through training and coaching.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance overall dealership operations and growth.
- Oversee inventory and parts processes at both Plainview and Yorktown locations.
- Engage in monthly customer visits to strengthen relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of part experience with at least 2 years of management experience, ideally within the automotive/coach or a related industry.
- Strong capability in inventory management and achieving profit goals.
- Expert organizational skills and multitasking ability.
- Proficient in using DealerTrack, Advectus, Reynold & Reynolds, or similar Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
- In-depth knowledge of automotive parts, specifically school bus components.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage high-pressure situations effectively.

- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- This structured schedule supports work-life balance while ensuring ample time to meet business and client needs effectively.
Compensation
- Salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000, plus high value commission on sales paid monthly (potential to earn higher than 3K monthly based on past employees) and potential bonuses.
