Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead preventative maintenance and repair on late-model Peterbilt trucks.
- Diagnose and repair Cummins and PACCAR diesel engines, electrical systems, and PTO-driven components.
- Maintain service records using user-friendly maintenance software.
- Assist with shop organization and oversee tasks assigned to shop assistant.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and ensure fleet safety compliance.
Requirements

Required:
- 3+ years of truck mechanic experience with Cummins and PACCAR engines.
- Proven skills in electrical diagnostics and repair, diesel engine troubleshooting, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance protocols and the ability to perform them with precision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license; must pass pre-employment physical, drug test, and background check.

Shifts
- Day shift: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday
- Overtime available and paid after 40 hours per week
- No weekend or after-hours work required unless mechanic opts to assist with emergency breakdowns
Compensation
- $28 – $35 per hour to start, based on experience and available tools.

Company Description
RLC Trucking is a Louisiana-based LP hauler with four mechanical shop locations: Alexandria, Port Allen, Eunice, and Logansport (Salt Water).
We operate Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM and currently run a fleet of 165 active units. As a family-owned company, we take pride in being a great place to work with a strong team culture.
Our operations are regional, primarily serving Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. RLC continues to invest in infrastructure to meet the demands of today’s technology, operating late-model Peterbilts ranging from 2019 to 2025.
Our LP trailers are primarily serviced at our state-of-the-art refurbishment facility in Eunice, Louisiana.
