Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Remote/ Rotational
Job Description
Join a highly skilled team as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Prudhoe Bay, AK, supporting remote North Slope operations. Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy and light equipment, including hydraulic and lattice boom cranes, bulldozers, front-end loaders, motor graders, water/vac trucks, and more.
- Perform component replacements, system diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and compliance.
- Conduct safety and productivity inspections on equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
- Operate vehicles and equipment as needed, including light/medium-duty vehicles.
- Adhere to safety standards, environmental policies, and operational protocols.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience or 2+ years with a related associate degree or certification.
- Valid driver’s license with insurability.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Work on uneven/slippery surfaces and in extreme cold temperatures.
- Climb ladders, scaffolds, and equipment; wear fall protection as required.
- Ability to obtain North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) certification (provided if needed).
Preferred:

- Experience working with remote North Slope operations.
- Knowledge of diesel theory, hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Expertise in heavy equipment diagnostics and repairs.
Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions.

Shifts
- Rotational schedule: 2 weeks on/2 weeks off or 3 weeks on/3 weeks off.
- Typical schedule: 84 hours/week (40 hours straight time, minimum of 44 hours at time and a half).
- Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is covered.
Compensation
- Pay: $30.00 – $48.00/hr., based on experience, certifications, and training.
- Meals and lodging provided during shifts.
- Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is covered.
- Benefits available starting the 1st of the month after hire (health, vision, dental, travel, drug plan, LTD, life insurance, and more).

Worley Alaska - Energy, Chemicals and Resources, is an Alaska-based oil support services and construction company, operating primarily in the Prudhoe Bay/North Slope region of Alaska.
All employment in Prudhoe Bay is on a rotational basis, with most schedules being two weeks on/ two weeks off or three weeks on/ three weeks off. You can live anywhere and work in Alaska!
Typical hours are 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is also provided.
