Non-Mobile/GSE Mechanic – Remote/Rotational
Job Description
Join an established team as a GSE Mechanic in Prudhoe Bay, AK, (Transportation from Anchorage provided) where you’ll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing non-mobile and ground support equipment for oilfield operations. This rotational role is a unique opportunity for skilled mechanics to contribute to critical oilfield operations in a remote environment while enjoying excellent compensation and benefits.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on non-mobile and ground support equipment, including large volume pumps, light plants, diesel-fired heaters, portable generators, and air compressors.
- Diagnose and repair fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and drive-train systems using standard tools and test equipment.
- Operate and inspect equipment to identify defects and ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain equipment maintenance records and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules.
- Safely climb ladders and work in shop and field environments as needed.
- Operate light and medium-duty vehicles for work-related tasks.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience or formal training as a GSE mechanic in construction, military, aircraft support, or oilfield industries.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability.
- North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) certification (can be provided if needed).
- Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance for power generation and non-mobile equipment common to heavy construction and oilfield service industries.
- Experience with lubrication procedures for various non-mobile equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, job descriptions, and maintenance/safety manuals.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to give and receive oral instructions.
- Able to work in a remote Arctic environment, with exposure to very cold temperatures while wearing Arctic gear.
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, crawl, and work overhead on uneven/slippery surfaces.
- Perform tasks such as:
- Lifting 50 lbs. to shoulder height.
- Carrying 50 lbs. for 15 feet.
- Pushing/pulling sleds or carts weighing 60-90 lbs. for 20 feet.
- Climb scaffolds, ladders, and equipment, including fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
- Wear and utilize fall protection as required.
Preferred:
- Experience in petrochemical, oilfield, or Arctic operations.
Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions.

Shifts
- Rotational schedule: 2 weeks on/2 weeks off or 3 weeks on/3 weeks off.
- Typical schedule: 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time, minimum 44 hours at time and a half).
- Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is covered.
Compensation
- $30.00 – $42.00/hr., based on experience, certifications, and training.

Worley Alaska - Energy, Chemicals and Resources, is an Alaska-based oil support services and construction company, operating primarily in the Prudhoe Bay/North Slope region of Alaska.
All employment in Prudhoe Bay is on a rotational basis, with most schedules being two weeks on/ two weeks off or three weeks on/ three weeks off. You can live anywhere and work in Alaska!
Typical hours are 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is also provided.
