Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic
Job Description
A well-established metal recycling operation is hiring a Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic in Raleigh, NC to maintain, diagnose, and repair fleet trucks and trailers. Ideal candidates have diesel repair experience and strong diagnostic skills. Apply now for a stable, hands-on opportunity.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect trucks and trailers, perform diagnostic testing, and identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning parts and systems.
- Complete preventative maintenance and repairs on powertrain, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, and hydraulic systems.
- Remove, repair, adjust, overhaul, assemble, disassemble, and replace major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and parts as needed.
- Perform mechanical adjustments and alignments, including work involving bearings, gears, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, clutches, and control linkages.
- Use diagnostic equipment, pneumatic tools, welding equipment, hoists, jacks, and other shop tools while following safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records for fleet trucks and trailers.
Requirements
- Required:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Experience using diagnostic computers.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel truck and trailer repair and maintenance.
- Must have your own tools.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly.
- Ability to work in awkward positions or cramped spaces.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
- Overtime available
