A well-established metal recycling operation is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Field Service in Raleigh, NC to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment on-site. Ideal candidates have diesel and hydraulic repair experience. Apply now to keep critical operations moving.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Travel to yards and job sites in Raleigh, Durham, Clayton, and surrounding areas to inspect, service, and repair heavy equipment on-site.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues using diagnostic tools and schematics.
• Perform preventative maintenance, major repairs, welding, and component replacements on loaders, excavators, shears, material handlers, cranes, roll-off trucks, and related equipment.
• Service attachments including grapples, magnets, blades, and winches to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
• Document repairs, parts used, and safety checks while working safely in a fast-paced outdoor recycling environment.
• Assist at the Clayton shop as needed.

Requirements

• Required:

• • 3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding.
  • Ability to read schematics, use diagnostic computers, and provide your own tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift heavy parts, work in awkward positions, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

• Preferred:

• • Experience working on recycling, construction, or mining equipment.
  • Technical certification such as ASE or OEM training.
  • CDL.
