Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine and detailed inspections of dump trucks, trailers, and loaders to identify any issues or potential repairs.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including engine rebuilds, transmission issues, and other mechanical components.
• Execute DOT/BIT inspections and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations.
• Diagnose and fix hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems within the fleet.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts inventory and usage.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to enhance preventive maintenance programs and reduce vehicle downtime.
• Utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues and ensure that repairs meet manufacturers’ specifications and safety standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in diesel mechanics, specifically with heavy vehicles such as dump trucks and loaders.
• Proficiency in performing DOT/BIT inspections and a solid understanding of related regulations.
• Strong technical skills in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, capable of working as part of a team.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL is preferred but not required.
