Job Description
We are actively searching for an experienced Service Manager for a well-established employer near Melrose Park, IL. The ideal candidate will bring experience conducting all levels of repairs and diagnostics on class 7 and 8 diesel trucks and have strong leadership skills.
The ideal Manager will be a strong leader looking after a large service team, and take ownership of day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will be organized, have strong communication skills, and put an emphasis on safety at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and safety.
- Manage a team of technicians, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Open and close work orders, utilizing CMMS software proficiently.
- Conduct audits on repair work and ensure quality standards are met.
- Manage parts inventory, order supplies, and maintain vendor relationships.
- Report operational data, including forecasts and performance reviews, to upper management.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of hands-on diesel truck repair experience (Class 7 and 8 trucks preferred).
- 2+ years of leadership or management experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in CMMS and generating detailed reports (inventory management, P&L, forecasts, etc.).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- A commitment to safety and team efficiency.
Compensation:
- Up to $120,000.00/year, based on previous experience/certifications/training.

Shift:
- Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM Start Time.
