Job Description

Actively searching for Shop and Field Technicians in Medford, MA. Two separate positions available. The Shop mechanic will perform diagnostics, repairs, welding, and sweeper system rebuilds in the shop, involving parts changing, component replacement, conveyor system work, and full sweeper rebuilds. The field service technician will perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs at municipal yards throughout the state, support snowstorm emergency breakdowns, and assist with sweeper servicing, including broom changes, greasing, light maintenance, diagnostics, and minor repairs on-site. Both roles require willingness to work extended hours and handle high-pressure operational demands. Potential for dedicated service truck for right field candidate.

Requirements:

Must-haves:
• Basic to intermediate diagnostic skills
• Welding capability (shop role); welding experience preferred (field role)
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and repairs
• Willingness to work extended hours
• Work under pressure and move quickly
• Complete assigned work fully
• Valid driver's license
• Own hand tools
• Demonstrated sense of urgency and work ethic

Nice-to-haves:
• CDL (requires federal drug testing enrollment)
• Experience with sweeper equipment
• Diagnostic scanner familiarity
• Equipment rebuilding experience
• Willingness to learn and advance skills

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base wage: $35–$50/hour (scale based on skill level and performance)
• Overtime: Paid after 40 hours weekly; 20 hours of voluntary OT weekly
• Potential annual earnings: ~$150,000+ with overtime
• Dedicated service truck for right field candidate (company will purchase)

Hours:

• Shift options: 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (10 hours/day) OR 3:00 p.m.–midnight
• Flexibility on shift selection
• Shop role: Fast-paced shop environment (four-bay, ~7,000 sq ft facility)
• Field role: Work at multiple municipal locations throughout state; on-call support during snowstorms (variable, high-demand periods)
• Take home service vehicle
• Overtime available, particularly during snow season
