We are seeking a Diesel Shop Mechanic in Spartanburg, SC, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment such as cranes, bulldozers, graders, and conveyors. Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect, operate, and troubleshoot heavy equipment and machinery using diagnostic tools.
- Perform repairs, adjustments, and maintenance on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment components using hoists, jacks, and hand tools.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, including lubrication, part replacements, and system calibrations.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics for repairs and modifications.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance with manufacturer standards.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and metalwork to repair or modify components.
- Maintain detailed service records and schedule routine maintenance.
- Direct or assist other workers in assembling, disassembling, or cleaning equipment.
Requirements
- 1+ years of diesel mechanic or heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
- Strong math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Pre-employment background checks and drug screens are required
Work Environment
- Outdoor field conditions with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Requires lifting up to 100 lbs., climbing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
- Must be capable of pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods while handling heavy equipment.

- Day Shift, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Compensation
- $25.00-$36.00/hour to start, based on previous work experience
- A Full Comprehensive Benefits package is available on the 1st of the month after 90 days (Health, Vision, Dental, STD/LTD, 401K, and more).
