Job Description

A reputable technical education institution in Springfield, IL, is seeking a Program Director for Diesel Technologies to lead the program and teach courses in diesel mechanics and related systems. Ideal candidates have industry experience and the ability to teach both theory and hands-on systems. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and coordination for all Diesel Technologies program activities.
  • Instruct program-level courses and maintain compliance with safety and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee program operations, curriculum, and equipment maintenance.
  • Support student learning through hands-on instruction in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and industrial systems.
  • Stay current with industry standards and pursue relevant certifications if not already held.

 

Requirements:

  • Required:

    • Associate degree in diesel mechanics (extensive experience may be considered in place of degree).
    • 3+ years of recent field experience in diesel technology or related sectors.
    • Ability to teach a range of systems including electrical, hydraulics, mechatronics, automation, and process control.
    • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain industry certifications.
    • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Shifts

  • Full-time, year-round position (12 months).
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • 40 hours per week on-site

Compensation

  • $68K – $80K annually, based on education, training, experience, and skills.
