A busy and fully equipped service shop in Stony Plain, AB, is hiring a Heavy Equipment Technician to repair and maintain off-highway equipment, trucks, and trailers. Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers, including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and conduct detailed inspections.
• Identify faults, determine repair plans, and carry out necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
• Complete CVIP inspections (if licensed) and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Document work performed using computer-based work order systems.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a safe, efficient work environment.

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
  • Strong hydraulic and electrical diagnostics and repair experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of heavy-duty equipment.
  • Proficiency with digital work order systems and diagnostic tools.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Personal toolbox and trade tools.

• Preferred:
  • Valid CVIP license.
  • Experience with a variety of makes and models in the construction, forestry, and transport sectors.
