
Service Manager
Job Description
A reputable agriculture equipment dealership in Taber, AB is hiring a Service Manager to oversee daily operations of the service department. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and coach service department staff to ensure productivity, safety, and high-quality repairs.
- Develop and execute operational strategies that align with annual business plans and performance metrics.
- Maintain accurate work orders, invoices, customer estimates, and service records.
- Oversee financial management of the department, including budgeting, labor efficiency, and profitability.
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure proper inventory levels and timely access to required components.
- Monitor and enforce health, safety, and cleanliness standards in the service area.
- Resolve customer issues and ensure high levels of satisfaction and timely communication.
- Manage warranty claim processes and ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
- Track performance metrics including labor efficiency, rework rates, shop supply levels, and training records.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to resolve operational or staffing needs.
Requirements:

Required:
- Red Seal Journeyman certification in Heavy Equipment or Agricultural Equipment Technology.
- 2+ years of supervisory or service management experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Financial management skills, including budgeting and cost control.
- Knowledge of health and safety compliance in a shop environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and service management systems.
- Valid driver’s license with clean abstract.
- Ability to travel 2–3 times per year for training.

- Experience in warranty claim handling and inventory management.
- Familiarity with performance tracking systems and operational KPIs.

- Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM (April – October)
- Saturday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (April – October)
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (November – March)
Compensation

$95,000 – $110,000/year (~$46 – $53/hour, based on experience).
