Job Description
A national transportation group is hiring a Traveling Maintenance Supervisor in Dallas, TX, to lead regional fleet operations. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee vehicle and facility maintenance across assigned locations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Partner with site maintenance leads to monitor KPIs, implement best practices, and drive uptime.
- Prioritize and coordinate repairs based on operational needs across business segments.
- Develop and coach maintenance staff; lead hiring, onboarding, and technical training.
- Manage vendor relationships and monitor sublet repair quality and costs.
- Participate in audits and maintain accurate reporting on performance metrics.
- Ensure shops are properly equipped, staffed, and resourced for daily operations.
- Support employee relations and encourage strong communication within maintenance teams.
- Travel up to 75% to support multiple service centers and regional teams.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in fleet or maintenance operations
- Hands-on maintenance experience with medium- to heavy-duty vehicles (trucks, buses, or similar)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of on-road vehicle systems
- Computer savvy; able to use software tools to track performance and productivity
- Understanding of KPIs and how to use metrics to drive operational improvements
- Proven leadership skills with ability to develop and support maintenance teams
- Budgeting experience and ability to make cost-effective repair decisions
- Proficiency with Excel and Word; familiarity with maintenance software
- Willingness to travel up to 75%
- Preferred:
- College degree or 4+ years of transportation-related experience
- Experience managing in a union shop environment
- Familiarity with Oracle or other enterprise maintenance platforms

Compensation
- Up to $100,000/year (depending on experience).
