Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Field Service
Job Description
Join our team as a Field Service Heavy Equipment Mechanic in the Virginia, MN area, where you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment at high-profile sites. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with strong mechanical or electrical skills and a passion for troubleshooting and diagnostics. You’ll work independently with the support of a dynamic team and be provided with a company vehicle for approximately 25% travel.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect equipment to identify faults or malfunctions and ensure proper performance.
- Adjust, repair, or replace defective components or systems according to scope of work.
- Test repaired equipment to confirm proper operational performance.
- Accurately complete time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and stay updated on industry, product, and technical best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure smooth operations and high levels of satisfaction.
- Provide commissioning and training for new equipment at customer sites.
- Ensure compliance with Company, Customer, State, and Federal safety regulations.
- Spend most of your time in surface mining environments, requiring comfort with these conditions.
Requirements:
- Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields with 7+ years of industry experience.
- Diesel and high-voltage electrical experience are an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems, including the ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with a customer-focused personality.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and safety-conscious, with the ability to work independently and halt work when necessary for safety.
- Experience with ISO Standards compliance.
- Valid driver’s license required for travel responsibilities..

Shifts
- Day Shift, 7:00am – 4:00 pm Monday to Friday (schedule may vary depending on workload, some night shifts might be required)
- Weekend coverage may be needed depending on equipment repairs
Compensation
- $30.00 – $48.00/hour to start, based on previous experience/certifications/training
- A Full Comprehensive Benefits package is available on after 30 days from hire date.
