A heavy civil contractor in Williamsburg, VA is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Diesel & Fleet to maintain and repair construction equipment and fleet vehicles. Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy construction equipment and fleet vehicles.
• Service excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, pickup trucks, work trucks, and related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines, mechanical systems, and equipment performance issues.
• Complete fabrication and repair work needed to keep equipment safe, reliable, and job-ready.
• Support equipment used on pipework, mass excavation, asphalt and concrete paving, demolition, and grade work projects.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment while following established safety procedures.
• Document maintenance activity, repair work, and equipment issues as needed.

• • Experience performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, or construction fleet vehicles.
  • Working knowledge of diesel engines, gas engines, mechanical systems, and general equipment repair.
  • Ability to perform fabrication-related repair work as needed.
  • Familiarity with construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, pickups, and trucks.
  • Ability to work safely in a shop environment and support equipment needs for active heavy civil construction projects.
  • Must complete pre-employment background checks.
