Heavy Truck and Equipment Program Summary:
This program will provide you with the skills and knowledge to diagnose and repair faults in the mechanical, hydraulic and electronic/ electrical systems used in today’s heavy equipment. Because toxic chemicals and petroleum products are often involved, workplace safety will be another important aspect of your training.
This program is a first step on the path towards Journeyperson Certification in the Heavy Duty Equipment Technician and Truck and Transport Mechanic trades. Certification is compulsory through the Department of Labour and Workforce Development. Graduates of this program will be eligible for transfer credit upon registration in the Provincial Apprenticeship Program.
