Job Description
A well-established agricultural service provider near Auburn, Indiana is looking to add an experienced AG Field Technician to their team. This is primarily a field service role (approximately 90% field / 10% shop) focused on diagnosing, servicing, and repairing agricultural equipment at customer locations.
This position is ideal for a mechanic who enjoys working independently in the field, solving complex mechanical and electrical issues, and supporting farmers with reliable equipment service during critical operating seasons.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair agricultural equipment and diesel-powered machinery in a field service environment.

Perform advanced diagnostics on electrical systems, sensors, control modules, and wiring harnesses.

Repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, and drivetrain components.

Utilize diagnostic tools and software to accurately identify mechanical and electronic faults.

Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections to ensure reliable operation.

Communicate repair findings and service recommendations to customers and management.

Maintain accurate service records and complete repair documentation.

Maintain organization and proper care of service truck, tools, and equipment.

Follow safety procedures and company standards while working on-site at farms and agricultural operations.
Qualifications:

Previous experience working as an Agricultural Equipment Technician, Diesel Mechanic, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

Strong diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting skills are required.

Experience diagnosing CAN-bus systems, sensors, wiring issues, and electronic control systems preferred.

Solid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and agricultural equipment operations.

Ability to work independently in a mobile field service environment.

Valid driver’s license required.

Must have own tools.

Strong communication skills and professional work ethic.
Compensation & Benefits:

$32.00 – $40.00 per hour, based on experience.

Shift & Schedule:

Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

No Saturday shifts from December through February
