Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a family run construction company in Fort Ann, NY. You will work on a diverse fleet of approximately 50-60 pieces of equipment, including earth moving, yellow iron, medium and large construction equipment. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to grow with a long-established, family-oriented company that values employee retention and development.

Requirements:

Must-Haves:

• Minimum 3 years heavy duty diesel experience
• Candidates with 2+ years on diagnostic will be given preference
• Expertise in Cummins engine diagnostics and emissions systems (EGR, DPF, after-treatment)
• Experience with CAT, Deere, Volvo, Hitachi and more
• Knowledge of complex electrical and fuel system diagnostics
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
• Own hand tools; willingness to work with company-provided specialty tools

Nice-to-Haves:

• Class A or B Commercial Driver's License
• Experience with CAT and Volvo heavy equipment
• ASE or OEM certifications
• Welding capabilities
• Experience with CANBus, Hydraulics and DEF

Compensation & Benefits:

Wage: $35.00–$50.00/hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Hours:

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
• Overtime: Paid after 40 hours/week
• On-Call Duty: Occasional Saturday on-call availability for emergency equipment repairs
• Work Environment: Primarily shop-based with some field work; well-lit, ventilated facility with overhead crane and equipment
• New Facility: Larger, upgraded shop currently in development planning stages
