Job Description
A well-established material handling equipment company is hiring a Shop Heavy Equipment Technician in Franklin, IN to service forklifts, cranes, lift gates, hoists, and related systems. Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect, service, troubleshoot, and repair forklifts, knuckle boom cranes, loaders, lift gates, hook lifts, skip loaders, hoists, and related equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective repairs, upgrades, and refurbishment work in a shop-based service environment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using troubleshooting procedures, diagnostic tools, and hands-on repair skills.
- Complete service records, daily reports, work documentation, and related updates using company systems.
- Follow safe work practices, environmental requirements, technical procedures, and service bulletins.
- Support customer satisfaction by addressing service concerns professionally and communicating repair opportunities or follow-up needs.
Requirements
- Required:

- 3+ years of hands-on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repair experience.
- Heavy equipment repair experience, including equipment-mounted systems or similar machinery.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record that meets company driving standards.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have or be willing to obtain the necessary toolset for the role and be comfortable using basic computer systems for service records, documentation, and daily job updates.

- Welding experience.
- Diesel equipment experience, especially when paired with heavy equipment, hydraulic, or electrical repair experience.
- Experience repairing forklifts, truck-mounted cranes, knuckle boom cranes, lift gates, hook lifts, hoists, loaders, skip loaders, or rental equipment fleets.

- Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Hours may vary based on business needs
Compensation
- $29.30 – $34.15/hour based on experience and qualifications
- $3,000 sign-on bonus
