Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, electrical, suspension, steering, and brake systems.
- Perform tire changes, oil changes, fluid checks, safety inspections, and fuel system maintenance.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify worn or damaged components.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to complete repairs accurately.
- Document all work in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Assist in shop organization, cleanliness, and inventory tasks.
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines, shop protocols, and environmental procedures.
- Support additional shop tasks and repairs as needed.
Requirements:
- Required:
- 2+ years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks.
- Strong preventive maintenance and basic diagnostic abilities.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read service manuals and follow repair instructions.
- Strong attention to detail, safety focus, and dependable work ethic.
- Standard diesel mechanic toolbox required; all specialized tools and equipment are provided.
- Preferred:
- 4+ years of experience servicing heavy trucks and trailers in a fleet or dealership setting.
- Proficiency in advanced diagnostics across major truck systems.
- CDL Class A license or intent to obtain; CDL training assistance available.
- Experience working with Cummins, Paccar, or Detroit engines.
- Certification from BOCES or a similar technical program.

Compensation

$32.50 – $35.50 per hour, based on previous experience/training/certifications.
