Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a team in Etobicoke. You'll work on road construction machinery including rippers, spreaders, shuttle buggies, and grinders. This is a hands-on role split between our shop and field work, primarily focused on running repairs with occasional full rebuilds. You'll work in a clean, well-organized shop with modern facilities and be part of a stable, established company.

Requirements:

Must-Haves:

• Experience with diagnostics on electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong work ethic and self-sufficiency
• Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic

Nice-to-Haves:

• 421A heavy equipment certification
• Experience with Road Building equipment

Compensation & Benefits:

• Wage: $40–$50/hour (based on experience)
• Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision) for employee and family, after 90 days
• $400/week on-call stipend (summer and winter)
• Two weeks vacation (first year-negotiable)

Hours:

• 7 AM – 5 PM, Monday–Friday
• On-call rotations: Once every 3 weeks (summer), once every 2 weeks (winter)
• Minimal overtime (0–5 hours/week); overtime paid after 50 hours
• Occasional nights and weekends required during peak season
