Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered yard trucks and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and scheduled inspections.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic, electrical, and air systems.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete repairs accurately and efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate service records and work orders.
• Ensure equipment meets safety and regulatory standards while keeping the shop clean and organized.
• Work closely with operations to prioritize repairs and keep equipment in service.

Requirements

• Required:

• • Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or fleet technician.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicle systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems independently.
  • Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a shop environment.

• Preferred:

• • Experience working on terminal tractors, yard trucks, or commercial vehicles.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • CDL.
  • ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certifications.
