Job Description

A experienced Heavy Equipment Technician is needed to assume the role of PDI Manager - OEM Up-Fit Manager in Sweeny Texas. Tasked to lead production operations at a heavy equipment upfitting facility specializing in OEM installations on construction equipment (excavators, loaders, etc.). Oversee production teams, ensure quality compliance with OEM standards, manage scheduling and training, and handle light diagnostics and troubleshooting. Responsible for building and executing production plans while maintaining a safe, organized work environment. May travel between locations as needed to support other yards.

Requirements:

Must-Haves:

• 5+ years heavy construction equipment experience
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to read SOPs, schematics, and technical documentation
• Light diagnostic and troubleshooting capability
• Valid driver's license
• Background check and drug testing clearance
• Welding experience preferred
• Experience working with heavy equipment OEMs (JCB, Dynapack, Hitachi, Link Belt, etc.)

Nice-to-Haves:

• OEM certifications (ASE, Master Tech certifications, etc.)
• Previous experience in dealership or OEM shop environments
• Experience transitioning from hands-on technical role to management
• Familiarity with inventory management and shop organization best practices

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly Rate: $40–$50/hour (based on experience; exceptional candidates negotiable)

Hours:

• Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 5:00 PM (depending on workload)

• Expected Overtime: 10–20 hours/week (varies by production volume)
• On-Call: Minimal; any overtime scheduled in advance
• Work Environment: Yard-based facilities with shop/production areas; equipment handling and light manufacturing work
