Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems on heavy equipment, dump trucks, and fleet vehicles.
- Maintain Caterpillar, Bobcat, Kubota, and similar equipment, including skid steers, excavators, and loaders.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and repairs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Fabricate parts and equipment modifications using welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools as needed.
- Safely operate heavy equipment, coordinate equipment movement, loading and unloading, and maintain organized yard operations and parts inventory.
- Establish and maintain service schedules, inspection checklists, repair logs, and maintenance processes, coordinating parts reorders with Procurement and directing yard helpers as staffing allows
Requirements
- Required:

- Proven hands-on diesel repair experience with heavy equipment, diesel trucks, fleet vehicles, or similar equipment.
- Hands-on experience with Caterpillar, Bobcat, Kubota, or comparable heavy equipment.
- Working knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Ability to read schematics, use diagnostic tools, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Fabrication experience using welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Comfortable operating skid steers, excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment safely.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, safe work habits, and ability to work independently and manage repair priorities.

- Experience organizing a shop or yard, managing parts inventory, or establishing maintenance processes.
- Previous leadership experience managing yard operations or directing a small team.

Shifts
- Day shift, Monday to Friday, with flexible start and end times
- Typical hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Saturday work as needed
Compensation
- $40.00 – $50.00/hour based on experience and qualifications
