A nationwide commercial fleet maintenance provider in Salt Lake City, UT is hiring an experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic II to diagnose, maintain, and repair a diverse fleet of trucks and trailers. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems, and other major components
- Conduct road tests and use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues
- Use computerized maintenance systems and shop technology to research, document, and complete repairs
- Mentor newer technicians while continuing to develop skills through ongoing technical training
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on vehicle maintenance experience required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Experience using diagnostic equipment and standard hand and power tools
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and travel locally to customer yards and training sites as needed
- Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled conditions and meet DOT driving and screening requirements
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally lift up to 100 lbs, and handle truck tires exceeding 100 lbs
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair
- Specialized training and experience diagnosing engines, transmissions, differentials, and other major components
- OEM training courses, ASE certification, and 608/609 certifications

- 2nd shift, Monday to Friday
- 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Compensation
- $28.00 – $31.11/hour base pay + $2.50/hour second-shift premium
