Job Description
A nationwide commercial fleet maintenance provider in Salt Lake City, UT is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician III to diagnose, maintain, and repair trucks and trailers at customer locations. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and trailers at customer locations
- Diagnose and repair gas and diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, clutches, PTOs, and driveline components
- Troubleshoot electrical, HVAC, hydraulic, steering, air brake, ABS, suspension, and electronic systems
- Road test vehicles and use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and verify repairs
- Manage parts, inventory, tires, wheels, and warranty documentation for mobile service work
- Serve as the primary customer contact while maintaining safe, compliant work areas
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on tractor-trailer maintenance experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL with air brake certification or willingness to obtain it
- DOT medical card required or ability to obtain one before starting work
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, welding equipment, and standard hand and power tools
- Ability to safely operate a 26,000-lb vehicle and use navigation tools
- Strong troubleshooting, computer, customer service, and independent field-service skills
- Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled conditions, travel as needed, and meet DOT driving and screening requirements
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally lift up to 100 lbs, and handle truck tires exceeding 100 lbs
Preferred:
- Vocational, technical, or vehicle repair certification
- Specialized training in vehicle component diagnosis, repair, and replacement

Compensation
- $24.00/hour
- Shift premiums: $2.50/hour for 2nd shift, $3.50/hour for 3rd shift, and $2.50/hour for weekends
