Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair Class 5-8 tractors, trailers, and tank equipment to FMCSA standards
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, fluid changes, and safety checks
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems
  • Open, update, and close work orders in maintenance software; keep accurate records
  • Mentor apprentices and support shop/yard facility upkeep
  • Assist with roadside service calls and uphold all safety and housekeeping protocols

 

Qualifications:

  • Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license
    • 1–5+ years of heavy-duty truck or trailer maintenance experience (level based on experience and certifications)
    • Current or attainable Air Brake Certification (FMCSR 396.25)
    • EPA 609 motor-vehicle A/C certification or ability to obtain
    • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs (team-lift items above 50 lbs)
  • Preferred:
    • HM-183 tank-trailer inspector certification or eligibility
    • Experience using fleet maintenance management software

Shifts

  • Full-time openings on 2nd and 3rd shift
  • 8-hour blocks (afternoon–evening for 2nd; overnight for 3rd)
  • Monday–Friday with overtime as business needs arise

Compensation

  • $21–$45/hr starting; final rate reflects experience, skills, location, and business needs
  • Relocation: Reimbursement available
  • Guaranteed Increases: Pay bumps tied to training milestones and verified prior experience
  • Allowances: $125 annual boot stipend; $250 semi-annual tool allowance after one year (up to $500/year)
