Job Description
A long-established passenger transportation fleet is hiring a Bus Mechanic in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to maintain and repair school buses, motor coaches, vans, and light- to heavy-duty vehicles. Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel and gasoline-powered school buses, motor coaches, vans, cars, and related fleet vehicles.
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and breakdown support in both shop and field environments.
- Repair engines, brakes, tires, lighting, body panels, windows, interiors, and related vehicle systems.
- Operate shop equipment such as torches, welders, hydraulic jacks, drum lathes, tire machines, and similar tools.
- Complete accurate work orders, maintenance documentation, and post-repair test drives.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and assist with parts handling, unloading, and occasional route driving.
Requirements
- Required:

- Formal training or schooling in diesel or automotive mechanics.
- Hands-on experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel or gasoline-powered vehicles.
- Working knowledge of brakes, engines, tires, lighting, body components, interiors, and related vehicle systems.
- Valid CDL Class A or B with Passenger endorsement, or willingness to obtain one with training provided.
- Must complete a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Must provide personal tools.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs regularly, handle occasional heavier lifting, and work in shop, outdoor, height, temperature, and noise conditions.

Shifts
- Full-time, 40 hours/week
- Part-time may be considered depending on availability
- Occasional nights, weekends, or rotating shifts may be required
Compensation
- $20.00 – $35.00/hour based on experience, certifications, and training
