I know want to get feedback on the question of what you guys think about putting alcohol in an air resivoir, on a truck equiped with an air dryer and anti-lock brakes. The purge valve stuck open and would not build air pressure to release the park brake.Let me know what you think!I know what I think but I need to hear it from you so I can tell my boss because he wont believe me. Thank You Friends.

As long as you pt the alcohol in downstream from air dryer and dont put too much in you are good, its actually good for system.

But since you need alcohol in system that tells me to change dryer desicant, also sounds like alcohol has entered system before dryer and turned desicant into goo and led to purge valve problem.

Been watching too much "Ice road Truckers"? It's been decades since we were supposed to be putting alcohol in brake systems. And even then it was through an alcohol evaporator and NOT poured directly in. It will degrade o-rings and valves. It will potentially hydro lock the system. Look inside a relay valve some time. Once that alcohol makes it in there, where is it going? Bad habits die hard.
