I've been approached several times at the shop by diesel fuel additive salesmen. They say their product will remove water and increase lubricity and so on. Using this stuff would require adding it to our bulk fuel tanks.

With Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel on the market (has 90% sulfur and oxides of Nitrogen removed)... why use fuel additives?

Does anybody use these additives and is it worth it?

P.S. I have used Stanadyne fuel conditioner for special cases on one engine but never for the entire fleet.

Just to add something here I found out that Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel has created some problems with steel tanks showing signs of corrosion. Condensation is a problem and fuel additives help remove the impurities.
