Cat D8L Doser track tensioning

hi guys im new to dozers need a little help !! on how to adjust !! the tension on the tracks !! its elevated !! cant find were to put grease or adjust !! any suggestions is very well appreciated !!

Hey Rodel. Somewhere in the middle of the track frame should be a small cover bolted shut. After removing that cover, you'll probably see a big glob of grease and a bunch of oil under that. Wipe off some grease and there will be a grease nipple (zerk) to attach your grease gun to. As you pump the grease in, you'll be able to see the slack come out of the track.

If I remember my field days right, you can put a 12' 2x4 on top of the track and have about a 8-10" sag in the middle, depending on the size of machine you're on. That should be close for a D8 hitrack.

If you're pumping and the track doesn't move, make sure the grease zerk is up tight. If it is, call your boss, 'cause you got other troubles!! Hope this helps!!
