Meritor used the 2016 Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week convention to report on its upcoming plans to release new replacement parts and services to the public. The biggest news for parts distributors and mechanics: a new line of AllFit clutches featuring improved design and components. Their most recent catalog will feature a comprehensive line of clutches; new AllFit clutches are made with redesigned interior and improved friction components.

The catalog will also showcase brake parts coated with Platinum Shield III. Meritor touts this coating as having better, longer-lasting anti-corrosion protection than their previous coating. Meritor’s latest axle repair kit, the FastSet King Pin Kit, is yet another product they’ve improved on from previous years. The up-to-date FastSet kit allows for hand installation of king pin bushings so no presses or reamers are needed during repair.

Meritor’s new services include service station assistance and informational videos for drivers and fleet managers. Meritor’s video series, “Cover Your Assets”, focuses on roadside inspection standards. It teaches strategies for identifying and troubleshooting parts problems before a trip. Their goal is to allow drivers to avoid issues with inspections of parts and components later on. The service station assistance will be offered through and will help drivers reach a Meritor service provider when needed.

Mechanics and parts distributors can take note of the AllFit clutch line’s details. Manual-adjust clutches are made in both 14-inch and 15.5-inch sizes and can handle between 620 to 2,250 lbs. ft. in torque. The self-adjusting clutch, with measurements 15.5-inch x 2-inch, features seven or nine springs in either a four or six paddle layout. As the name suggests, AllFit clutches are suitable for light, medium, and heavy duty trucks. Each part is covered for up to $800 in repair costs under a one-year warranty.
