Overview
We are seeking experienced truck mechanics and apprentices to join our growing team at a well-established heavy equipment and fleet maintenance operation. This is an excellent opportunity for both licensed professionals and those eager to develop their skills in a laid-back, family-oriented environment.
Position Details
- Reports to: Shop Manager
- Location: Near Drayton, ON
- Shift Options:
- Standard: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Afternoon shift available: Noon/early afternoon through evening (flexible)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial truck fleet
- Diagnose and resolve vehicle deficiencies through removal, replacement, adjustment, overhauling, assembling, and disassembling of components
- Conduct commercial vehicle inspections
- Engine rebuilding (primarily at secondary location)
- Record job information using digital work order management system
- Collaborate with shop team to maintain organized, efficient workspace
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Own tools
- Diesel truck experience (310T) OR automotive mechanic experience (310S)
- Willingness to learn and grow with the team
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Second year apprenticeship or higher
- Experience with engine rebuilding
- Diagnostic software experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage Range: $30 - $45/hour (based on experience and certification level)
- Overtime: Paid after 8 hours per day
- Vacation: 2 weeks standard (negotiable based on experience)
