Job Description
A family-owned construction company in Agawam, MA is hiring a Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and specialized concrete-cutting equipment. Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair trucks, trailers, pickups, heavy equipment, and specialized construction equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, routine servicing, and pre-inspections ahead of state inspections.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues across fleet and construction equipment.
- Maintain hydraulic and electric concrete-cutting equipment, including road saws, wall saws, and core drills.
- Assist with equipment modifications, fabrication, and custom repair solutions when needed.
- Complete field service and road calls as necessary while maintaining a safe, organized shop.
Requirements
- Required:

- Hands-on mechanical experience with vehicles, heavy equipment, specialized equipment, or a comparable repair environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance, servicing, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to diagnose unfamiliar equipment problems and develop practical repair solutions.
- Comfortable assisting with fabrication, equipment modifications, and field or road-call repairs when needed.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Candidates with different combinations of relevant mechanical experience will be considered.

- Day shift with flexible hours
Compensation
- $25.00 – $30.00+ per hour based on experience and qualifications
- Overtime available and paid after 40 hours per week
