Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair dump trucks, highway tractors, and light-duty service vehicles.
• Inspect, service, and repair heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, and skid steers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs across a mixed fleet of on-road trucks and heavy equipment.
• Identify problems accurately, work through repairs independently, and complete jobs properly the first time.
• Serve as the primary mechanic in a small shop with a steady flow of practical, hands-on work.
• Support repair planning and mechanical decision-making by providing clear, practical input on equipment and truck service needs.

Requirements

• Required:

• • Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician certification.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks and light-duty service vehicles.
  • Comfortable handling basic repair and service work on heavy equipment.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability across a mixed fleet environment.
  • Able to work independently, stay productive without close supervision, and take ownership of repair quality.
  • Self-starter with a dependable work ethic and pride in getting the job done right.

• Preferred:

• • Experience working on dump trucks, highway tractors, excavators, loaders, dozers, and skid steers.
  • Experience as a lead mechanic or primary technician in a small shop environment.
  • Located within a reasonable commuting distance of Almonte.
