Job Description

A well-established operation in Rockville, Virginia is looking to add experienced Diesel Mechanics to their team. This role focuses on maintaining and repairing a mixed fleet of heavy-duty trucks and heavy equipment, supporting daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

This is a shop-based role with opportunity to transition to a field service role if interested, in the future.  Ideal for mechanics who can diagnose issues independently and complete repairs from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and construction equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and moderate to advanced repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and determine root cause.
• Complete repairs independently while maintaining quality and efficiency.
• Document work performed and communicate with operations teams.
• Support occasional field repairs to keep equipment running.

Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of diesel mechanic experience in a fleet, construction, or heavy equipment environment.
• Comfortable performing repairs beyond basic PMs (diagnostics, component replacement, system troubleshooting).
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
• Experience with diagnostic tools/software (JPRO, OEM systems, or similar) is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and follow repairs through to completion.
• Must have own tools and reliable transportation.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $30.00 – $35.00 per hour, based on experience.

Shift & Schedule:

• Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Saturday: 6:00 AM – 12:30 PM
