Job Description
A small, family-oriented trucking and fleet maintenance company seeking two experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic to join our team in Hendersonville, TN. You'll work on a diverse fleet of diesel trucks (primarily Peterbilt and Kenworth with PACCAR engines) performing preventative and running repairs. This is a hands-on role in a collaborative environment where quality workmanship and communication with drivers are essential. The shop operates with a laid-back but professional culture that emphasizes pride in equipment and keeping freight moving.
Requirements:
Must-Haves:
- Minimum 3 years hands-on diesel mechanic experience
- Valid driver's license
- Own tools
- Professional demeanor and ability to work as part of a small team
- Strong communication skills with drivers and colleagues
- No ego; cooperative and solution-focused mindset
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with PACCAR diagnostic software (DAVIE)
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- DOT certification
- Familiarity with Cummins or similar diesel engines
- Brakes, suspension, and external component expertise
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $30–$35/hour (flexible for the right candidate)

Hours:
- Shift: 6:30–7:00 AM start; typically 8-hour day, mid-afternoon end
- Overtime: Average 2.5–5 hours per week
- On-Call: Rare weekend emergencies; paid double for call-outs
- Work Environment: Three-bay shop, no lifts or cranes; work primarily off the floor
- Operations: Long-haul fleet (8–10 day minimum cycles); routes cover western U.S. (California, Seattle, and beyond)
- No routine weekends unless emergency repairs needed
